Lombardi Software Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for 2007 Business Process Management Suites Magic Quadrant: Positioning by Leading Analyst Firm Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

AUSTIN, Texas — December 18, 2007
The Magic Quadrant for Business Process Management Suites, 2007 evaluated 22 vendors and “summarizes the state of the market for business process management suites (BPMSs).” Lombardi, and its flagship product, Teamworks(R), was reviewed by Gartner in terms of ten features/functionality areas defined for this Magic Quadrant.
According to Gartner, “Leaders are distinguished by their focus on driving a paradigm shift toward increased business user participation in the entire process improvement life cycle by enabling explicit, model-driven solution deployment rather than traditional coded approaches.” The report continues to point out that “they excel at enabling collaboration among business users and IT professionals, from the design and modeling phase through execution and optimization, using an iterative process improvement methodology in which the artifacts (outputs) of each phase move seamlessly into the next.”
Building on Lombardi’s vision for BPM, it introduced Blueprint(TM) (www.lombardi.com/bpm-blueprint-product.php), an ‘on-demand’ documenting tool that is used to collaboratively map an organization’s business processes, identify problems, and prioritize improvement opportunities. Delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), Blueprint is one of the first Web 2.0 applications that allows customers to immediately begin mapping their processes without having to download or install any software. To date, hundreds of companies have become Blueprint customers, encompassing thousands of users.
The company also shipped Teamworks(R) 6 (www.lombardi.com/enterprise-bpm-software.php), the next generation of Lombardi’s award-winning BPM suite. Teamworks 6 delivers extensive horizontal and vertical process collaboration focused on all roles within an organization, covering the entire process lifecycle. Teamworks offers a unique, shared model architecture that is designed to be easier to use and faster to deploy than other BPM solutions, allowing customers to reduce the long-term total cost of ownership significantly.
In addition to the many new business-oriented enhancements and technical functionality introduced in Teamworks 6, Lombardi also introduced two new complementary products for the Teamworks family that further extend the reach of business process management and promote collaboration – Teamworks for Organization Management(TM), and Teamworks for SharePoint 2007(TM).
On the execution side, Lombardi continues to expand its customer base, adding dozens of new BPM clients across a wide variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, government, transportation, technology, and insurance. In Europe, the company opened two new subsidiaries: Lombardi Software SARL, and Lombardi Software GmbH, to meet the rapidly growing demand for its process management platform within France and Germany respectively. Additionally, the company continues to expand its global sales and support ecosystem, adding 10 additional partners and resellers located across seven countries in 2007. It also recently announced major OEM and go-to-market partnerships with Capco, Enkata Technology and Progress Software.
“We are proud that Lombardi is positioned by Gartner as a BPMS leader,” said Rod Favaron, president and Chief Executive Officer of Lombardi. “We view this as further confirmation of our strategy to deliver the most innovative BPMS products and services that help drive superior business results for our customers.”
Lombardi Teamworks (www.lombardi.com/bpm-software-products.php) is a leading BPM software suite for designing, executing, and improving business processes. Teamworks for Office(TM) (www.lombardi.com/bpm-microsoft-office.php) makes it easy for anyone to participate in business process management using the familiar Microsoft(R) Office System products. Lombardi Blueprint(TM) (www.lombardi.com/bpm-blueprint-product.php) is the only on-demand, collaborative process documenting tool that enables companies to map processes, identify problems and prioritize improvement opportunities.
