UpSource Chooses HigherGround Call Recording and Monitoring Solutions for Newly Updated Call Center Operations

— February 26, 2003

LOS ANGELES Â? February 24, 2003 Â? HigherGroundÂ?, a global provider of recording and telecom management solutions for the contact center industry, today announced that UpSource, one of CanadaÂ?s leading call centers, has chosen the companyÂ?s call recording and monitoring solution, HigherGround Praetorian and HigherGround Mentor with Agent Evaluation, Screen Capture and Screen Title Tracker, and Report Commander, as key components of its recently enhanced call center platform for advancing delivery of high quality, customized, outsourced services.

Â?What initially attracted UpSource to the HigherGround solution is its focus not only as a call recording solution but, as importantly, a Business Intelligence platform,Â? said Mark Burns, Chief Technology Officer for UpSource. Â?Our value proposition as an outsourcer includes our ability to use the right, best-of-breed technology to solve clientsÂ? problems in ways that they have not even thought of yet. Having a strong BI platform as part of our underlying infrastructure puts us another step in that direction. In addition, on a more functional level, we really liked the ability to record, even selectively, without requiring a CTI hook to the ACD.Â?

Â?Like many call centers today, making the right technology choice was critical to UpSource. After a careful analysis of the market, UpSource chose HigherGround because of our reliability, comprehensive solution and analysis capabilitiesÂ? stated Terry Ryan, President and CEO for HigherGround Inc. Â?We are delighted to have UpSource as a customer and partner. Both organizations are focused on delivering the highest quality possible. With our products in their portfolio, UpSource continues to deliver on that promise.Â?

UpSourceÂ?s selection was based on four criteria: functionality, reliability, ease of use and cost.

? Functionality. UpSource required voice and data recording for 100% of their calls, quality monitoring tools, essential reporting/analysis capabilities, the ability to partition information and a clear upgrade path.

? Reliability. System availability is critical to Upsource, so a system with redundancy and reliability was essential. Since UpSourceÂ?s ACD platform is configured for five 9Â?s reliability, the HigherGround call-recording platform had to meet that expectation. In addition, strong maintainability that allows both local IT staff and HigherGround to quickly diagnose and resolve problems is crucial. HigherGroundÂ?s alarming capability, with over 250 alarms that alert of potential problems, and the unique Â?IÂ?m Alive notification service that dials the companyÂ?s support center nightly to authenticate the operability of the system both provide additional reliability.

? Ease of Use. HigherGroundÂ?s solution was easy for management and supervisory staff to use. It has reporting flexibility without requiring customization, customized evaluation forms that are easy to create, quick retrieval of recordings, remote retrieval and remote monitoring. Also important was a system that does not require IT work for customization each time a manager or supervisor has a new or unique need.

? Cost. As a growing outsourcing company, UpSource was attracted to HigherGroundÂ?s ability to offer a complete call recording solution at a competitive price that met all its primary needs.

Business Beanstalk Grows Small Businesses Using Giant Solutions

Hillsborough, CA — March 12, 2005

In the world of business process outsourcing, bigger is not necessarily better. Business Beanstalk is proving that keeping things small can be the best way to guarantee a higher standard of quality. Using the latest cost efficient communication technologies allows the firm to operate with lower over head and successfully tap a whole niche of corporate America that most big call centers cannot service.

Â?We can accommodate almost any client, with any budget, who needs help right away,Â? said Mike de Guzman, president and CEO of Business Beanstalk. This kind of flexibility is hard to find in the call center industry as most of the big outsourcing providers require their clients to commit to at least 50 seats and send management staff 3,000 miles across the globe to train agents. When he set up his call center operations last year, De Guzman realized that the formidable start-up commitment made the whole concept of BPO inaccessible to many small and medium scale enterprises in the US, hence his decision to focus on offering smaller plans to match more modest budgets.

While the call centers of India, the Philippines and even America fight for the business of the likes of Dell and SBC Yahoo, Business Beanstalk has been catering to a whole different demographic. A typical client would be an Termite inspection company in California who needs to call all real estate agents with a house-for-sale listing to expand their client base via appointment setting, or a gumball machine manufacturer in the U.S. who needs someone to cold call restaurants nationwide to ask if they would be interested in installing a vending machine in their premises.

Not all of Business BeanstalkÂ?s clients are of the Mom and Pop variety, however. Business Beanstalk has also been tapped for one-time sales and appointment setting blitzes or list clean-ups by Sprint PCS, Disney, Wella, and Mattel. They have also been doing customer satisfaction surveys and market research surveys for large national banks and market research companies.

Â?Our focus on flexibility also extends to the quality and adaptability of our marketing agents Â?said Jade de Guzman, vice president of Business Beanstalk. Â?We only have top-notch, university educated, sophisticated agents with extensive telemarketing experience, the gift of gab, and, of course, the ability to converse in Â?AmericanÂ? English. This really cuts down on the lead time when starting a new campaign.Â? Both De Guzmans are well-versed in the expectations of US companies, having both studied and worked in the US before setting up Business Beanstalk last year.

Jade de Guzman, a Computer Information Systems graduate from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, says she also wanted Business Beanstalk to have a distinct technological edge to help derive better value for its customers. It was one of the first Philippine call center to use the Five9 predictive dialer technology that automatically weeds out voice mail, busy tones and unanswered calls so that agents get triple the talk time of a caller on a manual phone. To always guarantee it will continue to stay ahead of the competition on the technological front, Business Beanstalk has hired a team of in-house programmers to tailor make software to suit the customerÂ?s specific reporting needs.

The attention to detail has paid off as Business Beanstalk has been growing exponentially in just one year of operations. Jade and Mike de Guzman are careful to keep the growth in check, however, choosing to focus on providing more value to the small client than a generic service to the big one.

About Business Beanstalk

Business Beanstalk (Doctor Dictate, Inc.) is a leading provider of contact center solutions for Small and Medium sized businesses. Business Beanstalk offers outbound appointment setting, telemarketing and telesales, as well as dedicated inbound customer support and order taking. Business Beanstalk provides high-performance, cost-effective marketing solutions for businesses of any size.

New Wrap-N-Strap® Untangles the Frustrating Mass of Power Cords Plaguing Clutter-Conscious Americans

Sacramento, CA — August 18, 2005

Wrap-N-Strap® an adjustable rubber strap designed to neatly bundle electrical cords represents a unique new solution to power cord clutter. An easy-to-use cord securing system, Wrap-N-Strap makes quick work of managing and storing power cords for everything from kitchen and personal care appliances, to computer peripherals, to air and water hoses, to extension cords, Christmas lights, hundreds of corded power tools and all of the electrical items people cant seem to live without.

Â?Our society is constantly bombarded with electrical gadgets designed to make our lives easier and more convenient,Â? said John Joseph, President of Star Tech International who produces the product. Â?But, manufacturers have failed their customers by not providing a method to compactly store the cords on these items,Â? continued Joseph, better known as Â?JJ. Â?Tools with loose cords create Â?chaos!Â? Who hasnÂ?t experienced the frustration of reaching into the garage cabinet for a power drill only to find it ensnared in a wad of cords to other toolsÂ?or quickly trying to grab the blender for a batch of smoothies and finding the coffee bean grinder, hand mixer and waffle iron along for the ride?Â?

Enter Wrap-N-Strap: an inexpensive cord organizer that quickly and easily bundles power cords into compact coils. HereÂ?s how it works: the strap is attached to the plug end of the electrical cord using the plastic button. The user bundles or coils the electrical cord, stretches the rubber strap around the bundle and secures it again to the plastic button. The operation takes only seconds, yet ends the inconvenience of tangled, unmanageable cords for a lifetime. Its most unique and useful feature, according to Joseph and dozens of customers, is that, unlike plastic twist ties or other cord wraps, the Wrap-N-Strap Â?stays attached to the cordÂ?, eliminating the risk of losing or misplacing it and enabling customers to use it over and over again.

With the increasingly widespread use of laptops, the Wrap-N-Strap provides a quick, compact storage solution for external power supply cords in the limited space of laptop carrier bags. Wrap-N-StrapÂ?s benefits also extend into the office environment, bundling office and computer equipment cords to make it an ideal space-saver for any business. A recent corporate customer purchased 100 – 12Â? and 100 – 9Â? Wrap-N-Straps to organize and manage the office power cords and Ethernet wiring cables, saying Â?The Wrap-N-Strap works greatÂ?itÂ?s fast and easy to, use, and itÂ?s already freed-up a lot of extra storage space, which is always at a premium around any office.Â?

Star Tech experienced tremendous early success with the Wrap-N-Strap at two major conventions, beginning with the International Quilt Market in Houston Â? where the product was first introduced Â? selling more than 400 bags in three days. Storeowners loved the product, while customers found that they could easily wrap and store glue guns, heat guns, steam irons and sewing machine cords. At the Annual Machinery show in Sacramento, Star Tech sold more than 200 bags in two days. Â?To our surprise, many of the machinery customers owned RVs and were ecstatic to find the 18Â? strap would keep their water supply hoses in a neat compact coil,Â? said Joseph.

The Wrap-N-Strap is offered in three sizes to solve any cord problem: 9-inch (yellow/black & white), 12-inch and 18-inch models (yellow/black). The product features an MSRP of $ 7.99 for a package of five 9Â? straps and $ 9.99 for (5) 12Â? straps or (3) 18Â? straps. Â?For a small price, you can tame power cords for good and conquer the cord clutter in kitchen and garage cabinets, easily storing items until the next time they are needed.Â? said Joseph. Wrap-N-Strap is now distributed nationally by Checkers, United Notions, Quilters Resource, Keepsake Quilting, and retailers such as the CB tool Group, Quilt In A Day, and the Clotilde catalog.

Wrap-N-Strap is patented and manufactured by Star Tech International, LLC, a Sacramento-based company specializing in products that simplify daily living. Founded by John Joseph in 1982, the company also manufacturers Â?Match Makers,Â? a tactual marking system for the visually impaired (color blind to total blindness) to identify clothing, food items and personal care products without the need to read Braille. Star Tech is associated with Paula Jean Creations, a sister company producing time- and finger-saving quilting products including the Kwik Klip, bearing the official recognition of a Â?must have tool for quilters,Â? and QuilterÂ?s Delight Safety Pin Grip Covers. Both products are featured on the PBS show Â?Quilt In a DayÂ? hosted and personally endorsed by the famous quilter and author, Eleanor Burns. PROJECT JASON

— February 3, 2003

Hello!

Please let us introduce ourselves. Our names are Adam Rossmann and Matt Toporski and we are from Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Racine, Wisconsin. We are working on a service project and we hope that your company may be able to help us.

Our project is called “Project Jason” and we are working with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The name of our project was chosen after an older teenager who is being treated for a very aggressive form of cancer, which is resulting in him having to have a transplant. We are trying to secure laptop computers for kids like Jason who are having transplants. Transplant patients require complete isolation for anywhere from 30 days on up, depending on the progression of their health. These kids are literally cut off from the world for a period of time. Laptops would open up that world for them. These kids would be able to communicate with friends and family through the use of e-mail, and to also correspond with their schools and teachers to get homework assignments so that they can continue their education aided by the in-house teachers at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. They could also get on the Internet to do research or to just simply play a game.

We are looking for donations of used laptops or financial donation to help purchase a laptop for these children. We are asking for laptops because they must be mobile. Maybe your company is upgrading and would like to donate your old ones to a good cause. Please consider this donation and remember that it will make a huge difference in the life of a child battling for his or her own life. Laptops must be in good working condition and must include a modem.

The donated laptops will be checked over by a volunteer technician, cleaned up, and sterilized. The Social Workers, and Child Life Specialist at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin will help decide who may need one of these computers. We want to make sure that they go to kids that may not otherwise be able to get a computer. If you have any questions regarding this donation, you may contact our Youth Director, Dori Rossmann at 262-605-1546. Please leave a message, and she will return your telephone call. Any laptop or financial donations should be sent to:

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection

Attn: Dori Rossmann

322 Ohio Street

Racine, WI 53405

Please seriously consider helping us, as your generosity will truly be appreciated. Receipts for your donations will be sent upon request.

Thank you,

Adam Rossmann and Matt Toporski

TelcoBridges’ TMedia TMG3200 Wins Internet Telephony Magazine’s 2008 Product-of-the-Year Award

TelcoBridges’ TMedia TMG3200 Wins Internet Telephony Magazine’s 2008 Product-of-the-Year Award

Montreal, Canada (Vocus) January 13, 2009 –-

TelcoBridges™ Inc., the preferred hardware and software supplier for telecom system integrators and solution developers, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation’s Internet Telephony Magazine has named TelcoBridges’ TmediaTM TMG3200TM a recipient of its 2008 “Product-of-the-Year” Award. This represents the sixth overall industry award that TelcoBridges’ Tmedia product family has garnered since its introduction.

TelcoBridges’ Tmedia TMG3200 is the highest-density media gateway platform on the market, featuring up to: 2,048 universal VoIP channels; 64 T1/E1s; three DS3s; or one OC3/STM-1ports in a single 1U enclosure. This “ready-to-deploy” platform requires minimal configuration, and helps system integrators and solution developers build and deploy solutions quickly and cost-effectively. Providing flexible support for SIP, SS7, ISDN signaling, and all associated media, the TMG3200 can route and bridge any call, from any network, to any other network in a seamless fashion, while generating the call detail records needed for billing.

Beyond density and flexibility, TelcoBridges’ Tmedia family is also setting new standards for performance, by bringing carrier-grade, “five 9s” reliability to the media gateway market. The Tmedia family features redundant power supplies, is field-upgradable, with in-service software upgrades, and it includes HA-software that detects, isolates, and addresses faults by switching over to standby components in an automatic fashion. And with all of these performance breakthroughs, Tmedia remains – by a wide margin – the most power efficient media gateway on the market, requiring less than 0.06 watts of power per channel, which represents a 30% to 80% power savings over competitive media gateway offerings.

“With some of the largest and most sophisticated phone systems in the world running on our platform in more than 45 countries, our customers turn to TelcoBridges because we provide the performance, the flexibility and the reliability they need,” said Gaetan Campeau, President and CEO of TelcoBridges. “We’re proud of the numerous awards we’ve won, and of the performance benchmarks we’ve set – and we’re now looking forward in the year ahead to showing system integrators and solution providers just how competitive Tmedia is in the media gateway market.”

“TelcoBridges is well-known for a strong commitment to quality and excellence, and their technology effectively addresses real needs in the marketplace,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine. “As a result, we’re proud to once again honor TelcoBridges with a Product of the Year Award.”

Continuent Tungsten Offers Scale-Out Solution for PostgreSQL 9

San Jose — June 1, 2010

Continuent, Inc., a leading provider of integrated solutions for continuous data availability, advanced database replication, integrated data management services and database performance scalability, today announced Continuent Tungsten solution to support PostgreSQL 9 with added capabilities to support advanced hot standby and streaming replication features.

Continuent Tungsten creates advanced data services that harness the power of multiple separate PostgreSQL databases to create highly available data services that offer the ease-of-management and processing throughput necessary to scale modern data-driven businesses economically and efficiently.

“PostgreSQL 9 is a big step forward in server capabilities thanks to hot standby and streaming replication,” says Robert Hodges, CTO at Continuent. “Tungsten integrates the new features into robust, easy-to-manage database clusters that bring significant up-time and performance improvements to end users.”

Tungsten for PostgreSQL highlights:

Tungsten adds advanced SQL routing and management to existing point-in-time-recover/warm standby, as well as PostgreSQL 9 log streaming and hot standby capabilities. Set-up details are handled automatically as part of cluster configuration, sparing users an often-complex configuration path.
Tungsten’s single management interface helps eliminate application downtime due to database failures or scheduled database maintenance. Tungsten integrated management offers a simple interface with built-in, automatic failover and simple procedures for on-line maintenance that works identically across different versions of PostgreSQL.
Tungsten routes application SQL requests to appropriate databases, minimizing or entirely eliminating application changes necessary to use multiple copies of data effectively and efficiently. Tungsten provides multiple options for load-balancing SQL traffic across servers to ensure efficient usage of all available hardware resources.
Tungsten conveniently integrates with existing customer applications for database backup and restore as well as monitoring to provide an overall solution that protects data and provides users the comfort of knowing that databases are up and running.
Tungsten provides easy-to-understand diagnostics and status of database copies that show cluster status in a single glance. Administrators can quickly spot failures and dig deeper to find solutions.

Continuent Tungsten for PostgreSQL builds on the rock-solid reliability of PostgreSQL as well as advanced replication capabilities arriving with PostgreSQL 9. Tungsten clusters allow a wide range of businesses to scale data processing efficiently and economically on PostgreSQL.

Continuent Tungsten has rapidly become the open source database users’ the choice for their high availability and scaling needs. Companies that already trust Continuent Tungsten, include Aetherquest, AstraZeneca (UK), Bridgepoint Education, Church Community Builder, Five9, oodrive (France), Thomson-Reuters, University of Groningen (Netherlands) and Vantrix.
