TradeHarbor? and Voxeo Announce Voice Authentication Partnership

TradeHarbor® and Voxeo Announce Voice Authentication Partnership

Orlando, FL and St. Louis, MO — April 23, 2009

TradeHarbor®, Inc., a leading provider of voice authentication services, and Voxeo Corporation, a leading provider of premise and hosted Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, today announced a partnership to deliver TradeHarbor’s Voice Signature ServiceSM to any customer using Voxeo’s IVR services.

A Voice Signature is computer analysis of a person’s voice to verify their identity with a high degree of accuracy. Voice authentication enables companies to provide the security of voice biometrics to better authenticate and protect customer transactions. A Voice Signature is as unique as a fingerprint and as binding as a handwritten signature. With an increase in identity theft consumers gravitate to companies that offer products to increase consumer security and reduce the potential for identity fraud. TradeHarbor’s Voice Signature Service works as a web service with Voxeo’s Prophecy IVR Platform, or is easily added to any call center or phone system using Voxeo’s hosted IVR service.

“The human voice is the most natural mechanism for user authentication and transaction authorization over the phone,” explained Dan Miller, Senior Analyst at Opus Research. “The partnership between Voxeo and TradeHarbor provides a scalable, highly-reliable solution, enabling enterprises to add voice biometrics-based fraud prevention on an ‘on demand’ basis.”

“Through our partnership with Voxeo, companies can quickly and easily deploy voice authentication to better protect customer accounts and employee information. With their focus on technology leadership, Voxeo is an ideal partner for our Software as a Service authentication solution. In addition to voice authenticating customers on inbound calls, Voxeo clients will also be able to use Voice Signatures to authenticate online transactions made from computers and mobile devices based on outbound calls to their phones or mobile devices,” said Bob Nelson, Vice President of Partner Development at TradeHarbor.

“Voice biometrics has gone from a technology used in labs and trials, to a much more mainstream product that enterprises are requiring,” said Dan Burnett, Director of Speech Technologies at Voxeo. “We are very pleased to have a leading provider of voice authentication products as a Voxeo partner.”

According to Avivah Litan, Vice President and Distinguished Analyst, Gartner Inc., “Enterprises can benefit from improved security by adding voice authentication technology to their voice applications. In this economic environment we are seeing an increase in identity fraud. Voice biometric authentication can protect consumers from fraud while maintaining a streamlined authentication process. “

When an enrolled user calls an application protected with the Voice Signature Service, they are prompted to repeat a dynamically-presented phrase. Voice Signatures are used to conveniently authenticate inbound telephone calls or, using outbound calls, web transactions from computers or mobile devices. The Voice Signature Service then returns a patent-pending Normalized Detector Scale® confidence score that can be used as a decision support factor in allowing or denying account access; it also maintains an audit trail, which provides unprecedented accountability. Additionally, Voice Signatures can be used as legally-binding digital signatures to electronically sign documents online or by telephone. The entire authentication process takes just seconds.

TradeHarbor, Inc. is the provider of the Voice Signature ServiceSM which delivers voice authentication in a Software as a Service (SAAS) model. TradeHarbor is privately held and has been a pioneer in the voice authentication market since 1999. Voxeo Extends Global Presence With Investment in New Carrier-Class IVR Hosting Facility in Germany

Voxeo Extends Global Presence With Investment in New Carrier-Class IVR Hosting Facility in Germany

Orlando, FL and Cologne, Germany — May 7, 2009

Today Voxeo, the world’s leading provider of standards-based voice application platforms and hosted services announced the launch of a new data center for its IVR and voice application hosting services in Frankfurt, Germany.

The new hosting facility is one of the most secure data centers in the world, designed to meet the on-demand IVR and application hosting needs of Voxeo’s banking, telecommunications and Global 1,000 customers. Existing Voxeo customers in the region include o2, Postbank, SAP, Swisscom, T-Mobile, Versatel and Vodafone.

The move underscores the importance of the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) for Voxeo, which acquired Cologne-based VoiceObjects in December of last year, and increases the level of service Voxeo can offer to customers, partners and carriers throughout Europe.

The new hosted platform is equipped with German language speech recognition, German text-to-speech, bilingual English German text-to-speech and speech capabilities in most other major European languages. The hosting service includes a wide range of toll free and local telephone numbers in the DACH region, as well as inbound and outbound capability on Voxeo’s global carrier network. In addition, the new facility offers co-location and managed server options for on-LAN deployment of voice application.

Voxeo is delivering on the promise to further extend its European footprint following the successful growth of its UK-based hosting service, which now counts some of Europe’s leading companies as customers. The expansion in Frankfurt takes Voxeo’s VoiceXML and CCXML hosting capacity in Europe to over 10,000 ports. Counting its other data centers in the US, Voxeo is the largest standards-based hosting provider in the world and the infrastructure provider to many of the world’s leading IVR providers. This step marks the opening of Voxeo’s fifth data center, joining existing locations in Slough, UK, and Orlando, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Atlanta, Georgia in the U.S.

Voxeo delivers a full IVR hosting solution committed to openness, strict adherence to standards and multi-vendor support backed by Voxeo’s pre-deployed, geographically distributed Prophecy Hosting facilities. Prophecy Hosting facilities are built on Voxeo’s pure SIP Prophecy IVR Platform and select components are optimized for multi-tenant voice application hosting.

“The global economic downturn has created a growing demand for hosted IVR services,” said Aphrodite Brinsmead, Associate Analyst at Datamonitor. “Voxeo has had success in the UK with its hosted solutions and, with the addition of the VoiceObjects team in Germany, which it acquired in 2008, Voxeo has built up a solid European capability. Opening a data center in Germany will allow Voxeo to grow its presence further, meet increasing demand and continue meeting stringent SLAs.”

“This million euro investment in IVR hosting capacity underscores Voxeo’s commitment to the DACH region,” says Michael Codini, Managing Director of Voxeo Germany. “By putting the world’s most widely deployed standards-based voice platform alongside the industry-leading VoiceObjects service creation environment in an ultra-secure hosting facility we provide an unbeatable service offering. We have many of the world’s leading companies as customers and they have very exacting standards. It is reassuring for them that Voxeo’s security, reliability and scalability exceed their expectations.”

Pulseteleservice Inc. Teams Up with YellowPepper Inc. for a FleetBoston Wireless Promotion

Pulseteleservice Inc. Teams Up with YellowPepper Inc. for a FleetBoston Wireless Promotion

Toronto — January 16, 2004 -

Pulseteleservice Inc. teamed up with YellowPepper Inc, a leading wireless marketing company in the U.S., to create a mobile marketing campaign for FleetBoston during recent Red Sox and Yankees games.

FleetBoston flashed a toll free phone number on the Jumbotron encouraging the audience to call a phone number to find out about their financial happiness. When users called the number, they heard celebrity voices read out a number of questions. After users answered a series of 5 questions using their cell phoneÂ?s keypad, they received a text message with their personal results and a call to action.

Pulseteleservice provided the toll-free number and back end data collection using their award winning managed IVR platform. The data was then fed seamlessly to YellowPepper who then initiated an SMS message to the respondentÂ?s mobile phone.

Â?We were really impressed with the Pulse team. Their speed, professionalism, and dedication made this promotion a success. In addition, it allowed us to adjust the promotion on the fly.Â? Said Marc Theermann, CEO of YellowPepper.

Â?This project is a great case of wireless and land line technologies working together in a truly converged way. IVR is still the best way to automate and manage a large of amount of data collection and information gathering over the phone. Â? Said Robert Khoury, General Manager Â? Pulseteleservice.

YellowPepper and Pulseteleservice will continue to work together on future wireless/IVR projects and find further ways to integrate and better leverage both technologies.

Ifbyphone Creates iPhone Developer ‘Stimulus Package’

Ifbyphone Creates iPhone Developer ‘Stimulus Package’

Ifbyphone logo

Chicago (Vocus) March 3, 2009

Ifbyphone today announced an economic stimulus package for iPhone application developers. The most innovative iPhone application developers will each receive $ 1,000 from Ifbyphone for the development of an Ifbyphone-to-iPhone mashup that is selected and released by Ifbyphone on the iTunes App Store.

“We want to empower developers, so rather than hope that other stimulus packages would prop them up, we decided to use a direct stimulus approach of our own,” said Ifbyphone CEO Irv Shapiro. “With the release of our iPhone template, we’ve taken iPhone application development to a new level. Offering this opportunity is an enticement for developers to test their high-impact ideas on our already-proven iPhone platform.”

Ifbyphone has previously released two iPhone Apps on the iTunes App Store: a voice broadcasting application that enables iPhone users to schedule and deliver voice messages to multiple recipients and a conference-calling application that enables iPhone users to initiate impromptu or scheduled conference calls.

The company is soliciting applications from developers for consideration now through April 30, 2009. Apps need not be complete and fully tested, but they must be working prototypes that deliver innovative calling features to consumers and/or integrate telephony into other Web services and applications. The Ifbyphone team will select the best, most innovative candidates from submitted designs, finish development and testing, and make the app or apps available in the iTunes App Store–ideally at no charge to consumers, just as other Ifbyphone iPhone apps are.

Full details of the program and the tools to begin development are available at http://public.ifbyphone.com/iphone_stimulus. Recently re-designed, Ifbyphone’s developer bulletin board, http://www.phonemashup.com, now serves as a discussion center for the API and iPhone development tools.

“We’re hopeful that a broad spectrum of developers will give our tools a look and put their creativity to work,” said Shapiro. “We are particularly excited to announce this program at 360iDev and eComm, as these conferences have attracted many of the best and brightest iPhone developers.”

To learn more about Ifbyphone’s affordable suite of online telephony applications, such as Voice Broadcasting, Call Tracking and Hosted IVR, visit http://www.ifbyphone.com.
